Because once the position is already in the red, it’s very easy to start convincing yourself that it will definitely reverse right now and you just need to wait a bit more)). And with leverage, it can end very badly, because there’s a risk of liquidation. So I think it’s better to decide how much I’m willing to lose before entering, and not change that plan afterward based on emotions. For a beginner, it seems especially important.
