Open CoinGecko’s trending rankings, and SHRUB, STONK, PONS... the names get more abstract one after another, with STONK basically wearing its meme status on its forehead. These days, has the bar for making it onto the trending list gotten a bit too low?
By contrast, $ETH is still hovering around 2500, $SOL is wobbling around 105, and $AVAX is indeed edging up a little, but the volume is all pretty small. The ones really doing the work are still these old veterans.
That said, the market greed index is already at 71, and people still have the appetite to chase these flashy plays, which shows sentiment is indeed in place. The only question is who’s holding the bag at the very end.
