Zcash ( $ZEC ), has had a bullish move in recent days, which accelerated especially in the last few hours. After holding for at least 10 days between $750 and $890, the price began to rise strongly, surpassing $1,220.

This price volatility may possibly be driven by:

- Growing institutional interest following the launch of Grayscale's Zcash ETF (ZCSH), which began trading on NYSE Arca on August 25, 2026, with about $313.5 million in assets at launch and by September 4 had already surpassed $463 million.

- Reports of major short position liquidations.

- The breakout above $1,000, which is ultimately a very relevant psychological and technical level.

- Market interest in privacy-focused cryptocurrencies.

My view of the current scenario is that ZEC is trying to consolidate a new bullish trend. It could even reach $1,250 and $1,300, although there is also the possibility that this move represents the final phase of a short squeeze.

Therefore, if the move loses strength, long liquidations could begin and a correction could be equally rapid, taking ZEC back toward levels that may be around $1,150 and $900 in the next few hours. Personally, this would be the scenario that would suit me best.

However, ZEC may be ceasing to be a purely speculative bet in order to test whether there is enough real demand to sustain the new price levels.

Meanwhile, those of us who are in a short position must remain vigilant for the next moves.
