To be honest, I got schooled by XAUT today. When I was checking the market this morning, the system’s signal was to wait and see, but I didn’t believe it and, itching to trade, I opened a short at 4,425 hoping to make a quick profit. And the result? XAUT just kept grinding between 4,419 and 4,428 all day, with my order stuck in the middle getting whipsawed back and forth. In the end I got stopped out and lost nearly two hundred. The system’s "wait and see" really wasn’t just for show — it was me insisting on going against it.
Now looking at the chart, XAUT is at 4,419, down 0.2% over the past 24 hours, with volume only 3.78 million USDT — a classic low-volume slow decline. My system has now switched back to a wait-and-see signal. With this kind of volatility in gold tokens, it really isn’t as good as trading BTC. BTC is moving sideways around 79,800, while ETH is up a modest 1.5% to 2,495, but it’s still just range-bound with no clear direction.
A grid strategy actually works pretty well on XAUT — just don’t be like me and try to chase the trend with itchy fingers. Set up the grid honestly and trade the 4,400 to 4,450 range back and forth; that’s better than anything else.
