📰 Strong U.S. jobs data puts pressure on Bitcoin $BTC ’s upward momentum

The U.S. financial market just received the August 2026 jobs report, which came in much stronger than expected. Specifically, the number of new jobs increased by 162,000, well above the 65,000 that experts had anticipated, while the unemployment rate remained at 4.1%. This strong recovery in the labor market has unintentionally weakened the likelihood that the Fed will cut interest rates anytime soon.

In response, President Donald Trump called on the Fed to lower interest rates to support U.S. businesses, arguing that a strong country needs low interest rates. However, traders reacted in the opposite direction by raising expectations that the Fed may hike rates at its September 15–16 meeting. At present, the probability of a rate hike is hovering around 50%, leaving the market uncertain between a rate increase or keeping rates unchanged.
