Some people still can’t tell the difference between a Binance account and a wallet, so let’s make it clear.

Exchange account: your crypto is held in custody on the exchange platform; you log in with your account password + 2FA. It’s suitable for everyday trading and managing assets.

Decentralized wallet: you keep your own private key and seed phrase. There’s no password recovery. If you lose the seed phrase, the crypto is gone. It’s suitable for long-term storage of larger amounts and for using on-chain applications.

Recommendation: keep funds for daily trading on the exchange for convenience; move larger amounts you plan to hold long term to your own wallet. Write the seed phrase down offline by hand, never take a photo of it, and never upload it to the cloud.

Both have their own uses; it’s not an either-or choice.
