ACE shorts are paying to hold their positions, but the ones buried recently are the people who chased longs.

Binance, Bybit, and Gate all have annualized funding rates clustered in the -477% to -598% range, meaning the money deducted from shorting for one day is even harsher than the price’s own volatility. In the same period, Bitcoin’s annualized funding rate is only around 3%, while ACE’s figure is exaggerated by two orders of magnitude.

The current price is around 0.175, down about 2% over the past 24 hours, and Binance and OKX on-site data are consistent. However, in the last 4 hours, the entire network liquidated $5,157, with 99.9% being longs; looking at the past 24 hours, 85% were also longs. The ones who truly couldn’t hold on were not the people paying to short.

If you’re holding such an expensive short position, can you bear it?
