Everyone is watching the Middle East, but the real bombshell is elsewhere.

The average U.S. diesel price has quietly hit a historic high: $5.85 per gallon 😱

Gasoline has also reached $4.14, the highest before Labor Day; the last time was in 2012.

Where is it coming from? Russia's refineries.

Under long-range drone strikes, about 40% of Russia's refining capacity has gone offline, and diesel exports have been cut off directly 🛑

The world has lost 3% of its diesel supply every day, and with refinery maintenance in the Middle East added on top, more than 10% of global refining capacity is offline.

Even worse: crude oil has strategic reserves, but fuel does not.

U.S. crude reserves have already fallen to the lowest level in 44 years, while no buffer was left for fuel at all 🇺🇸

If diesel gets expensive, trucks still have to run, freight costs rise, and everything on supermarket shelves has to go up too 📦

Friday's nonfarm payrolls already dampened hopes for a rate cut, and now energy is adding another blow.

Inflation is sticking around, rate cuts are getting farther away, and risk assets are the first to feel the pain.

📌 U.S. diesel prices hit a record $5.85: 40% of Russia's refining capacity is offline, diesel supplies are cut, 10% of global refining capacity is down, inflation may stay sticky, and rate cuts look even less likely.
