-e Saturday morning, BTC 79,674, ETH 2,454.
After Friday’s close, the whole market felt frozen. BTC has closed three consecutive 4-hour candles in the 79,500-79,900 range, with volume nearly half of usual. It’s either dropping, or not moving.
One thing worth watching: the ETH/BTC ratio has kept sliding this week, with ETH’s decline (-1.8%) consistently underperforming BTC (-1.4%). Historically, whenever this ratio falls below a key level, either ETH starts catching up, or the whole market switches into deleveraging mode. Right now it’s somewhere in between, and this kind of ambiguous state is often where the risk is highest.
The trading idea is simple: don’t chase in a range. If BTC hasn’t firmly held above 80,500, staying on the sidelines is safer than chasing longs. If BTC drops another 1% from the current level to around 79,000, watch whether volume expands — a drop with volume is worth trying for a rebound; a slow, low-volume drift lower should just be waited out.
What position management fears most is not missing the move, but churning in a range and grinding away profits through frequent in-and-out trades.
