The chief executive officer of Western Digital recently shared that their entire manufacturing capacity for 2026 has been completely purchased. On top of that, binding contracts are officially in place with their seven largest clients, securing business commitments well into 2027 and 2028. A similar supply situation is happening over at Seagate, where their nearline drives are currently fully spoken for. This represents a massive portion of their overall business, considering those specific drives make up 87% of their current sales. Meanwhile, Filecoin storage utilizes physical hardware that has already been put into operation.
