The Boring Company asked some investors in its latest funding round to help with hiring and business development, according to people familiar with the matter. According to Sina Finance, the company said investors would need to help recruit employees or expand business, such as introducing government officials in areas where it plans to build tunnels.
People familiar with the matter said the company recently completed a new funding round at a valuation of about $20 billion. The Boring Company also told prospective investors which roles it urgently needed to fill, and said it could buy back some of their shares if they could not provide suitable candidates.
After The Wall Street Journal published the report, Elon Musk said on X on Thursday night that it was true.
