So what kind of buying is that $73 million? I think there’s something worth thinking about here — ETF holders are mainly institutions, and their BTC buying logic is different from retail. Retail chases candles and buys high, sells low. Institutions care more about allocation logic, risk hedging, and things like that.
But the question is — how long can allocation logic hold up? If they’re only buying because ETFs are easy to buy, then that kind of demand is highly elastic, and once the market dips, they’ll leave faster than anyone else.
This is what I mean by the "business logic": what are institutions actually buying BTC for? Are they buying the narrative of digital gold, or a conveniently tradable speculative instrument? If it’s the former, then this price zone may not even be expensive for them, after all, it’s already down 37% from the high. But if it’s the latter — then this ETF frenzy could fade at any time.
My current mindset is: just watch. The signal itself isn’t bad, but whether it can turn into a real upside driver still depends on whether volume and follow-through can keep up. Watching is one thing, but honestly my hand is a little itchy — this time I resisted.
