This mechanism channels approximately 90% of the yield generated by the USDC reserves on Hyperliquid back into the ecosystem to support HYPE buybacks through the Assistance Fund. The scale is substantial.
With roughly $6.74 billion USDC held on Hyperliquid and assuming a conservative 3% yield, CoinGecko estimates that AQAv2 could potentially generate an additional ~$182 million per year, or nearly $500,000 per day, for HYPE buybacks. That figure is equivalent to an additional ~18% on top of the protocol's baseline daily revenue at the time of the estimate.
Notably, this mechanism operates on top of the existing system. Hyperliquid has long been allocating approximately 97–99% of protocol revenue from trading activity toward HYPE buybacks, meaning AQAv2 provides an additional funding source derived from stablecoin reserve yields, rather than solely from trading fees.
