AEON has launched Agentic Checkout, allowing AI agents to search, select, check out, and pay for products through natural-language conversations in Shopify's merchant ecosystem. According to ChainCatcher, the payment process is supported by AEON AI Card, a virtual card that can be configured with preset spending limits and authorization scopes so AI agents can complete payments without directly accessing a user's main wallet or primary card.

AEON said Agentic Checkout currently covers more than 3 million active Shopify stores and over 1 billion products. The company also plans to connect the system with Claude's open-source e-commerce agent and expand it to shopping and payment scenarios on Amazon and Travala.
