That number called the duty cycle isn’t, in essence, a technical indicator—it’s more like a “thermometer for market sentiment.”

When it rockets above 60, it means most people in the market are packed together in the same direction—either afraid of missing out, or unwilling to move. The truly rational response is the opposite: the higher the duty cycle, the more you should ask yourself—why can this cheap, off-brand coin in my hands tell its own story instead of being trapped in the “$BTC ” pattern? If you can’t answer that, then every cent it goes up is just the illusion of liquidity that hasn’t been drained yet.

What I care about more is the marginal change in the duty cycle. Going from 55 to 60 is the shift from “rotation” to “solo performance.” Dropping from 65 back to 58—that’s when the real rotation window opens. Don’t wait until the coin has already risen to react. Watch the duty cycle, and you’ll know the wind direction a week earlier.
