The inaugural release of the Roundtable 100 index—published alongside TheStreet—has shaken up conventional views on tech and digital asset valuations. While traditional markets measure success by market cap, this new index ranks the top 100 publicly traded growth assets based on future potential, placing market giants like Bitcoin (BTC) and Tesla (TSLA) near the bottom of the list while smaller utility-focused altcoins take top honors.

How the Roundtable 100 Scores Growth Assets

The index evaluates assets using a Power Ranking calculated by a committee of analysts. Each asset is scored from 0 to 100 across five key criteria:

  • Team: Leadership and developer quality.

  • Safety: Structural security and financial resilience.

  • Value: Valuation relative to current performance.

  • Innovation: Technological differentiation.

  • Market Dominance: Ecosystem influence and adoption.

Because the index emphasizes remaining growth runway rather than established size, massive multi-trillion-dollar assets face a structural disadvantage compared to emerging protocols.

Bitcoin vs. Tesla: The Battle of the Mega-Caps

In the head-to-head matchup between two of the world's most prominent assets, Bitcoin (#94) edged out Tesla (#96).

  • Bitcoin ($1.63T Market Cap): Ranked at #94. Despite its dominance as a store of value, analysts view its massive valuation as limiting its percentage upside relative to younger assets.

  • Tesla ($1.49T Market Cap): Ranked at #96. Interestingly, Tesla holds 11,509 BTC on its balance sheet. However, its mature market position places it behind Bitcoin in remaining growth runway.

The Altcoin Flip: Why Small-Cap Crypto Dominates

The most striking revelation from the list is that every cryptocurrency included in the Roundtable 100 outranks Bitcoin. Analysts favor mid-cap and sector-specific protocols that solve explicit infrastructure challenges, such as decentralized finance (DeFi), real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, and high-speed blockchain scaling.
