Every time the market oscillates at the top, drops, and then surges again, I always think of the night in November 2021 when BTC hit 69000. I was in a group chat, and a friend who had just entered crypto posted a screenshot: full-long, with unrealized gains of more than a hundred thousand dollars. He said this time is different, 100,000 by year-end is not a dream, then @everyone and asked if anyone wanted to join the rally.
The group was boiling with excitement at the time. Only one old hand in the market reminded him: congratulations, but remember to take profits.
He didn’t reply. I guess he thought that old hand didn’t understand the market.
A week later, when the big coin fell below 50,000, he stopped talking, and the old hand never said anything again either, as if he had never warned him in the first place.
Only later did I understand that many veterans in the crypto world don’t like to persuade people. It’s not that they’re cold-hearted; it’s that they’ve tried persuading too many times, and it never worked. In the end, they learned that some people just can’t be talked out of it.
If someone has never lost money, then no matter how much risk you explain, they’ll think you’re blocking their path to profit.
So if it goes up today, I won’t say whether it will fall or keep surging.
If you think you can hold, then hold. If you think you should sell, then sell. Trading is always your own business, and the market will teach us what we should remember.
But there is still one thing to remember: when you’re making money is exactly when it’s easiest to lose big money.
