Daiwa said Tencent's WorkBuddy open platform, launched on September 2, marks a shift from a single office assistant to an open AI ecosystem and potential operating layer, according to ETNet.

The platform has partnered with more than 30 hardware brands, launched nine co-branded smart devices, and supports more than 20 industry applications across over 50 sectors. Daiwa also said WorkBuddy may have synergies with Tencent's Hunyuan model, with usage data and developer feedback potentially helping future model iterations.
