Barclays' chief executive for private banking and wealth management said the company plans to more than double its private banking staff in Singapore to drive client asset growth in Asia's rapidly expanding market. According to Sina Finance, Sasha Wiggins said in an interview in Singapore on Thursday that the British bank's wealthy client assets have grown 30% over the past two years, with Asia contributing. She did not disclose the region's specific figures or current headcount. Wiggins said the company aims to achieve double-digit growth in client assets and liabilities in the region, in line with overall business growth. She added that Singapore and the Middle East will be two particularly strong growth markets for the company over the next two to three years.
