Recently there was a piece of news that I think is more worth paying attention to than BTC’s rise and fall.
After 21 international banks including Citi and Goldman Sachs announced plans to move forward with stablecoin initiatives, the stock prices of Circle and Coinbase actually came under pressure.
Bitcoin News +1
Many people see this as a negative sign.
But I think otherwise: I think this is a sign that the industry is truly maturing.
A few years ago, people were discussing whether traditional finance would accept Stablecoins.
Now the discussion is about how traditional finance should participate in Stablecoins.
The market has moved from “whether” to “how to.”
So when I look at a sector, I don’t just look at the coin price.
I pay more attention to:
Whether on-chain stablecoin transactions are growing;
Whether funds are continuing to flow in;
Whether payment use cases are increasing;
And whether users are truly using them.
For these recent data points, I’ll check first at Ave.ai, and then decide whether a particular hot topic is worth following continuously.
The more I think about it, the more I feel that what truly changes the industry isn’t a single news headline, but the data changes behind the news.
If in the future banks all start issuing stablecoins, what do you think will be the biggest advantage of crypto-native projects?
