A 62% surge, but 63% of people are shorting—what is the market betting on?

Today, AKE surged to a high of 0.0448, with trading volume breaking $1.1 billion—this kind of heat isn’t common.
But interestingly, after retreating from the peak, the price has been closing with three consecutive hourly bearish candles, and it is currently hovering around 0.0141.

The bulls pushed up, but the bears clearly aren’t conceding: the long-to-short ratio is 37% vs. 63%, and most people believe this round of gains won’t hold.
The funding rate is only 0.005%, suggesting leverage isn’t extreme—there’s no sign of a squeeze situation yet.

My take: if the 0.0137–0.0140 range can’t be defended, the pullback could deepen;
conversely, if it can hold above 0.0165, it would indicate the bulls are still building momentum.
