The strongest August, followed by the weakest September
BTC rose 20% in August, the strongest August since 2017. The S&P also gained over two points, steadily hitting new highs.
September is the weakest month in stock and crypto history.
Today, during the session, it was dumped to 76,400. After the short squeeze, there was no incremental follow-through buying—pullbacks were supposed to happen anyway.
Flows have been split. On Monday, Bitcoin ETFs saw net inflows of 217 million, ending the prior streak of nine consecutive days of outflows. For Ethereum ETFs, since mid-August up to now, there hasn’t been a single red day—nearly eleven days straight.
On Friday’s jobs report, bets on rate hikes pushed markets up, and oil prices are rising too.
Seasonality has never been a reason to enter or exit—it’s only probability. If you treat probability as a reason, both sides will miss out.
