Why 5x is my golden rule in futures? A risk breakdown 📊
Hi everyone! Since I’m taking part in a content marathon and sharing my experience every day, today I want to talk about the technical side of trading. Many beginners jump straight into 20x, 50x, or even 100x, dreaming of fast x’s. For myself, I chose a discipline-focused path—max 5x on isolated margin. Why?
It all comes down to math and preserving your deposit:
1️⃣ Buffer zone: With 5x leverage, the coin’s price (e.g., ZEC or BNB) has to move against my position by as much as 20% for a default to happen (liquidation). This gives me time to think and exit in time.
2️⃣ Emotional control: When liquidation is far away, my hands don’t shake from every 1% move on the chart. I calmly take my micro-profits in the $0.10–$0.20 range.
My takeaway: it’s better to slowly build your balance with small leverage than to lose everything in one click because of greed.
