XRP Ledger accounts must opt in with a token before they can receive it
Ledger $XRP will not deliver a token issued to an account until that account opens a trust line with the issuer of that token. No one can introduce an undesired asset into a wallet that never agreed to hold it.
A trust line is a single shared entry between two accounts, positive on the holder’s side and negative on the issuer’s side. Each reserves 0.2 $XRP , which is released again if the line is removed. However, the first two trust lines in a new account are effectively free.
Issuers can invert the consent option and approve each holder via RequireAuth, though only if it is enabled before any trust lines or offers exist, according to the documentation from @XRPLF.
