Yesterday I saw a piece of feedback from a student, and I kept thinking about it for a long time.
He said:
“Before, after a few big-position blowups, I’m not as bold with big positions anymore—especially when I’m asleep. I always feel like I can’t hold on.”
I actually think—
This isn’t that his nerve has gotten smaller; it’s that he’s started to mature.
A lot of people when they make a little money, they go all-in. After a couple of winning trades, they think they’re invincible. In the end, the last trade reverses the market and gives back everything they made before.
Because they mistake:
‘This time I made money’
for:
‘I’m already consistently profitable.’
That’s the cruelest illusion in the trading market.
After I went from more than 30k to over 3 million USD, the biggest change wasn’t that my courage got bigger.
It was that I became increasingly clear about:
when to act, and when to hold back;
when to take profits, and when to leave.
Skills determine whether you can spot opportunities.
Position sizing determines whether you can survive.
Mindset determines whether you can truly take the money out.

It’s someone who, after countless cycles of ups and downs—
still has an account, still has the mindset, and still has the understanding.
