Loneliness

For many, loneliness is punishment,
a long night without stars in the sky,
a silence that hurts inside
and raises questions no one answered.

For others, it is an escape,
a refuge far from pain and the world,
where the tired soul hides
and finds, in silence, something profound.

Some say it is a divine punishment,
some call it freedom.
But perhaps loneliness is only a mirror
reflecting our own truth.

For being alone is not always being lost,
and being surrounded is not always having company.
Sometimes, it is in emptiness that we discover
the light that was missing in our own life.
