The price has broken above the upper limit of the recent 20 five-minute K-line range, and the open interest has risen in sync. This isn’t some kind of short-covering fake pump—this is real added leveraged long positioning entering the market. Trading volume has expanded to 2.5 times the usual level, with buy-side orders clearly dominant. The buy/sell ratio is 1.41, and the funding rate is also holding at recent high levels.
To be fair, the “quality” of this surge is among the few good ones lately.
That said, I generally don’t chase a 15-minute setup after it has already broken out of the range. I prefer to wait for a pullback and confirmation—it feels more comfortable. But then again, the contract is ranked #4 on the anomaly leaderboard for the whole pool, and it’s a product with an OI percentile of 99.4%. Just watching without participating doesn’t really make sense either.
Try placing a small position hanging around mid-slope, or simply stay sidelined and observe—watching its performance is also fine.
