For Bitcoin, in this one hour of liquidations, nearly a quarter were carried by a single person.
On the Gate exchange, a long position was liquidated at $77,785.8, totaling $310,000. This one trade accounts for 23.4% of the $13.27 million in Bitcoin liquidations across the whole network in one hour. It isn’t a bunch of small retail traders cutting losses one by one—someone with a large position was singled out and targeted.
Zoom in for the full picture: in this one hour, the entire network liquidated $59.85 million, with 82% being long positions—up sharply from the overall 53% long ratio over the past 24 hours. Ethereum saw $15.57 million liquidated in one hour, with 88% long; SOL saw $7.75 million liquidated—there were no short positions liquidated at all, everyone went long and got buried.
Bitcoin’s current price is around 77,750. It’s less than 0.5% away from the 24-hour low of 77,366. The long position was opened mid-slope on leverage, and as soon as it dipped a little lower, it got called out.
In a market where big orders get called out like this—do you dare to catch the flying knife?
