Deep Tide TechFlow message: On September 01, the official Injective X account (@injective) issued a statement saying that Injective recently completed an accelerated network upgrade. The upgrade process took longer than expected, and some validators were temporarily jailed for failing to complete the upgrade within the scheduled window, causing the network’s staking amount to drop briefly. Some exchanges also temporarily paused deposits and withdrawals.

This acceleration upgrade was prompted by a vulnerability attack targeting a small number of ecosystem applications in the binary options market. The attack scope was limited to the relevant application layer only. Injective’s main chain, underlying protocol, native assets, and consensus mechanism were not affected. The related attack vectors have been isolated and patched. Injective emphasized that on-chain users’ funds and staked INJ are safe and unaffected, and that reports characterizing this incident as “the blockchain being attacked or paused” are inaccurate.

Subsequently, Injective will introduce enhanced invariant detection, real-time monitoring systems, and additional security safeguards, and will continue collaborating with ecosystem developers to raise overall security standards.
