“Crypto | Momentum Interpretation | September 1st”

Just finished scanning the 7-day momentum leaderboard. $AKEUSDT is up +561% in a week, $BANKUSDT +108%, and $USUSDT +89%. Feels good, doesn’t it? Tell you this: if you chase coins that are near the top of these % gain leaderboards, you’ll most likely end up holding the bag.

My lesson: don’t chase until a coin has already risen more than 50% over 7 days—your win rate is under 20%. For something like AKE that can go 5x in a week: either it was just listed and money was used to smash it upward, or the whales are distributing while luring people in. The depth simply can’t really hold. I’ve personally suffered this before—watched it pump upward and didn’t dare to chase, and in the end the pullback still trapped a batch of people.

What really caught my eye was the abnormal volume ratio leaderboard. FLOCKUSDT volume ratio 38.8x, MANTRAUSDT 20.5x, ASMLUSDT 7.4x—this kind of quiet accumulation is the main-accumulation signal. The gain % leaderboard is a lagging indicator; the volume ratio leaderboard is forward-looking.

As for the big BTC-style “big one,” $BTC is grinding around 78,300. $ETH 2460 and SOL 103 haven’t made a strong breakout. At this point, I’d rather miss it than do it wrong. I’d rather miss it a hundred times than make one mistake.

Trading suggestions:
1. Don’t chase coins that are near the top of the 7-day gain leaderboard
2. Add to your watchlist the ones near the top of the volume-ratio leaderboard
3. Move only when the direction for major coins becomes clear

Have you been tricked into buying by the gain leaderboard lately? Tell me in the comments.
