According to Sina Finance, citing the Korea Economic Daily, Uber has submitted a bid application to the Seoul city government seeking to operate an autonomous mobility platform. The winning company will be allowed to run Seoul autonomous taxi services on its platform for at least two years, connecting autonomous taxis deployed by multiple companies and providing ride-hailing services to passengers. The report said this is the first time a global mobility service provider such as Uber has applied to take part in South Korea's autonomous driving business.
