A trader’s background is sadness. I’m someone with very low emotional needs. After leaving school and entering the market, I’ve never again had a truly deep mental exchange with anyone. Even though people in the same circles sometimes discuss things, it’s really just mutual comfort within the same group. If you asked me to go back to the day I decided to enter the market, I think I would still make the same decision as I did today—to do the job I longed for in high school. I used to think being a trader was a glamorous, bright profession, but only once I got to this day did I realize what lies within is an utterly hopeless loneliness. Every bit of profit I seize in the market is a compensation payment for my failed life.
