BSIM (Blockchain SIM) is a blockchain innovation product jointly developed by the China Telecom Research Institute and the Shanghai Tree Picture Blockchain Research Institute. It was first released in Shanghai on May 16, 2023.
Visually, the card is no different from a standard SIM card, but its storage capacity has been expanded by 10 to 20 times, and its computing capability has increased by dozens of times.
“The private key is generated inside the chip, and the chip performs the signing; the private key never leaves the card” is the core design of the BSIM card. By using hardware security protection technology to generate and store the user’s public and private keys within the card, it performs digital signatures in a “private key never leaves the card” manner—thereby significantly reducing the risk of attacks from mobile trojans, viruses, and other malicious software.
