Coinglass’ latest liquidation heatmap shows: if ETH drops below $2,370, major CEXs will liquidate $1.092B in long positions; conversely, if it breaks above $2,615, shorts will be liquidated by about $613M
Current ETH is around $2,485—right in the middle between the two liquidation bands, about 4.6% away from the lower "minefield"
Watch the asymmetry: the downside long liquidation mine is $1.092B, while the upside short mine is $613M—funds betting on a drop are only betting half as much as those betting on a rise, and once it dips, the cascading liquidation firepower from sell pressure is stronger than the reverse
My take: the dense liquidation zone is both a "mine" and a "magnet."
