COSCO Shipping Holdings (01919) said it will build 18 vessels at a total cost of HK$23.322 billion, according to ETNet.
The group signed shipbuilding contracts with Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and China State Shipbuilding Corporation for 12 22,000-TEU LNG dual-fuel container ships. Each vessel will cost $224 million, or about HK$1.747 billion, for a total price of $2.688 billion, or about HK$20.966 billion. Delivery is expected between 2028 and 2030.
It also signed contracts with Huangpu Wenchong and China State Shipbuilding Corporation for six new 3,200-TEU wide-body container ships. Each vessel will cost RMB339.8 million, or about HK$393 million, for a total of RMB2.0388 billion, or about HK$2.356 billion. Delivery is expected between 2028 and 2029.
