Finally got to Beijing Renyi Theatre’s Small Theatre College Students’ Drama Festival—being there in person is straight up legendary ✨! The whole auditorium was packed, and the atmosphere was blazing. Students from multiple universities, including Capital Normal University, Renmin University of China, and the Central Academy of Drama, took turns performing plays one after another. The young actors brought immense enthusiasm—their charisma and impact were off the charts.
I was especially hooked by 《White Snow Pig Head》. It’s adapted from Su Tong’s short story: the performance was incredibly delicate, the stage visuals and lighting were all on point, and it perfectly captured the flavor of the original. The venue’s hardware at Renyi is just that good— even without a microphone, the lines could carry clearly throughout the whole hall.
