Former New York City Traffic Commissioner Sam Schwartz warned on Bloomberg This Weekend that the expansion of autonomous vehicles brings cybersecurity risks, including the possibility that bad actors could seize control of connected cars and use them as weapons, according to Bloomberg.

Schwartz said his new novel, Autokill, explores that threat. He also said autonomous vehicles still have significant safety potential if companies provide greater transparency and governments prepare for emerging risks.
