BitGo took over NYDIG’s institutional trading business and directly moved into the derivatives and financing arena.
According to news from Hokanews, the idea behind this move is to weld BitGo’s custody “back end” with NYDIG’s execution capabilities, with the end goal—plainly speaking—of building institutional-grade crypto financial infrastructure.
The amount hasn’t been disclosed. BitGo has been focused on custody for a long time, while NYDIG has spent years deepening its expertise in derivatives clearing. The customer roster includes plenty of U.S. pension funds and hedge funds. After the deal closes, BitGo effectively holds both spot custody and derivatives settlement at both ends.
