$ZEC CZ: I don’t recommend young people selling their homes and going all-in on cryptocurrency

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) @cz_binance said during a Binance Clubhouse Bari 2026 community Q&A session on August 23 that he would not recommend young people sell their homes and put everything into cryptocurrency, especially if their property accounts for most of their wealth.

CZ said he sold an apartment in 2014 to buy Bitcoin because he had strong confidence in BTC’s long-term growth—so even if Bitcoin went to zero, his day-to-day life would not be affected. But not everyone can withstand that kind of outcome. For most people, he recommends investing 1%–10% of their recurring income into leading crypto assets they believe in.

Thinking back, if they hadn’t stuck it out and “made it to a million” in 3 months to become a manager, from 2015–2017 it likely wouldn’t have caused so many people to get rich overnight
