Traditional brokers are opening new entry points for imitation coins, but the prices are going down first.
On August 27, Charles Schwab announced that over the coming months it will add Solana, Avalanche, and Chainlink to Schwab Crypto. The platform only started offering customers direct trading of BTC and ETH in May, with a per-trade fee rate of 75 basis points.
The news is big, but the market is cold: as of 20:14 Beijing time, Binance’s SOL perpetual contract was down about 1.53% over the past 24 hours, AVAX about 1.69%, and LINK about 3.84%; meanwhile, BTC and ETH were down about 2.39% and 2.56%, respectively, over the same period.
What is the trading logic here? It feels more like “more entry points” is still stuck at the expectation level: Schwab wrote “coming months,” not that it goes live today, and it also didn’t promise clients that they will definitely buy. For SOL, AVAX, and LINK, what truly needs to be tested isn’t how loud the broker’s announcement is, but whether there are sustained trades after the launch, and whether trading volume can outperform the liquidity of existing exchanges.
By opening $SOL and $AVAX to look at real-time trading volume and the K-line chart, do you believe this is an early trade ahead of the expansion of entry points, or that the news hype hasn’t yet turned into real buy orders?
