Daily Hotspot Recap - August 29

$GOLD scam: After Trump follows an account promoting it, the price gets dumped. Among the people followed by Trump’s X account (@realDonaldTrump), there is an account called @realtrumpcoins1. Today, this account promoted a Meme coin $GOLD on the Solana chain. After the promo, the market cap briefly surged to a high of $60 million, but soon after, the tweet was deleted. The $GOLD team then began selling off the tokens, and the market cap crashed by more than 95% in a short time. There’s a high chance the account was hacked—after all, not long ago, Eric Trump specifically denied that Trump himself/the family had any plan to issue coins again.

▰ Robinhood Chain ecosystem “launchpad” Pons. Its token PONS is up nearly 50% over the past 24 hours. For a brief moment, its market cap touched $200 million, setting a new all-time high. The Robinhood ecosystem Meme coin Cashcat also returned to a $200 million market cap.

▰ Others: The SVM L1 chain Fogo Foundation was hacked, and 400 million tokens were transferred to the hacker’s address. Federal Reserve Chair Waller spoke: inflation is still above the target, and the Fed still has work to do. His comments were interpreted by the market as a potential rate-hike signal, and risk assets such as BTC fell.

In closing, wishing everyone big profits!
