HyENA, a perpdex project built on HIP-3 and using Ethena’s USDe as collateral, has officially shut down.
The given reason is that Hyperliquid prioritizes USDC more, and HyENA no longer has a competitive advantage over other projects.
HyENA was previously shared by Ethena as a potential project to expand the use cases of USDe, but with 4 billion in trading volume and over 10k active traders, it still wasn’t enough to keep HyENA alive.
The user reward points earned will not be redeemable for anything—everything goes back to zero.
