I’ve been educated by the market.

Yesterday, when XAUT was around $4,580, my grid system kept taking three take-profit trades in a row. In a moment of impulse, I manually added half a position, thinking that the gold token was rock solid. But this morning, I woke up to a brutal knock—XAUT dipped as low as $4,445. My manually added position is now showing an unrealized loss on the books, and it feels awful.

The system itself is actually calm. The 4-hour signal shifted from bullish to neutral, the grid automatically tightened its step size, and it didn’t chase the dip. When BTC broke below $78,000 and even hit a low of $76,888, ETH also weakened—overall market sentiment is bearish. My manual position is a perfect negative example: the system clearly didn’t give a breakout signal, yet I insisted on making a bet myself.

Now that I think about it—I’ve been running this XAUT grid system for almost three months, and the biggest lesson is: don’t get itchy and act when the system hasn’t issued a signal. If the system doesn’t move and you do, the one taking the loss is you.

Right now, XAUT is at $4,456. The support at $4,445 was tested once without breaking, but it’s also not something I’d call “stable.” I’ll wait for the system signal—no guessing the bottom.
