Crypto | Momentum Interpretation | August 29

The overall market has completely collapsed. At this point, I don’t dare to make a move.

I just finished scanning the 7-day momentum leaderboard, and I was sweating bullets after reading it. $BTC broke below 77600, $ETH slid to 2438, and $SOL also fell back to 103—across the board around -3%. In this kind of environment, chasing those momentum stocks that have surged is like picking up gold in a minefield.

First, look at how scary the top three by 7-day gains are:
- AKE: +561% in 7 days (you didn’t misread—more than five times)
- BANK: +108%
- US: +89%

Stocks like AKE, which were still lying on the floor a month ago, have turned into a five-and-a-half-times move in just seven days. This kind of speed either means the main force is pulling the plug to distribute, or there’s some catalyst I haven’t seen. But with only 1.66 million U in 24-hour trading, such thin liquidity means a single “pin” move on $BTC can pull it back by 30%. I don’t envy that money.

What really makes me alert is the volume-ratio leaderboard:
- FLOCK: volume ratio 38.8x
- MANTRA: 20.5x
- ASML: 7.4x

What does a FLOCK volume ratio of 38x imply? Normally, nobody trades it—then suddenly, tens of times the usual buy orders flood in. Either big players quietly start building positions, or it’s the last wave of a bull trap. Given how awful the broader market looks, I lean toward the latter: the firm uses the chaos to give it a push to attract the next batch of bag-holders.

My take: right now, it’s best to watch and wait.

If you already hold shares, don’t add. If you don’t have any, don’t rush in. For $BTC at this level—if 77000 can’t be held, the next support is 75000. The real good opportunity comes after a plunge, not during the plunge.

Wait for the market to stabilize before entering. For now, the stocks on the momentum board are high-risk items. When you see others taking profits, you don’t know which day’s bullish candle they entered on.

What do you think? In this kind of crash environment, do you dare to buy the dip, or wait for right-side confirmation? Let’s chat in the comments.
