President Trump's just put it out there that the US has sorted a deal to lock down majority control of over 65 billion barrels of Venezuelan oil reserves ,On top of that, the US currently sits on about 46 billion barrels of proven crude oil reserves. Chuck in the 65 billion barrels from this agreement, and the US is looking at domestic reserves plus control over roughly 111 billion barrels of oil ↩️
To give you some context, the whole world's got about 1.57 trillion barrels of proven crude oil reserves. Basically, the US is lined up to control about 7.1% of all proven oil reserves on the planet under this new bit of business with Venezuela ↩️
Sitting at around 111 billion barrels, the US would be neck-and-neck with the United Arab Emirates—who have 113 billion barrels of proven crude—and it'd top Kuwait's 102 billion barrels ↩️
