Why do you always buy at the highest point and sell at the lowest?

Because you’re being controlled by your emotions. When prices are rising, you see others making money, FOMO kicks in, and you can’t help chasing—only to chase at the top. When prices are falling, you see your account shrinking, fear kicks in, and you’re afraid it’ll keep dropping. So you cut quickly—only to cut at the bottom.

Chasing rallies and selling in panic is a common problem among retail traders, including me in the past.

The solution sounds simple: before entering the market, make a plan—what price level to enter, where to set your stop-loss, where to take profit—write it down, and follow it strictly. Then close the trading app and don’t keep watching the charts.

It’s easy to say but hard to do, but it’s the only way. If you can’t control your emotions, you can’t control your account.
