To be honest, sometimes not trading is the best trade. I’ve repeated this saying eight hundred times, but every time there’s a big drop, I can’t help but get itchy to do something.
Today, XAUT was hammered all the way from 4617 down to 4445, a drop of 3%. My grid system placed two orders around 4500; I’m currently floating in a loss, but the price hasn’t broken down. The system signal is still in a wait-and-see mode. Honestly, a safe-haven asset like gold dropping 3% in a single day isn’t that common. BTC, on the other hand, dropped cleanly and broke below 78000. ETH has been hovering around 2400, and overall market sentiment isn’t great.
Last night, I almost manually added to my XAUT position, but I held back. Looking back now, the system is more patient than I am. The grid orders are already placed—just wait.
The question is: has this drop bottomed out? Is 4445 the low of this leg, or is it just halfway down the slope? Until the system gives a breakout signal, I choose to lie low.
