On the U.S. options exchange MIAX,
BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF weekly options have been restored.
The Q3 list announced on July 1,
IBIT was quietly removed.
Now, under the new rules, it’s back on the board.
The asset threshold was slashed from $50 billion down to $25 billion.
The monthly trading volume threshold was lowered too,
from 10 million down to 5 million.
IBIT’s net assets at the end of June were about $43.2 billion,
right in the middle of the old and new thresholds.
The old rules were just out of reach, while the new rules make it easy to pass.
As of August 18, the new framework takes effect,
and the expiry dates on the 19th, 24th, 26th, and 31st are back.
The SEC also waived the 30-day waiting period,
effective on the day it was submitted on August 13.
For options traders,
there are two additional tradable days within the week.
Hedging tools become more flexible, and
there’s another layer to the strategy.
This round of rule loosening is
like opening a window for institutional players.

📌 IBIT weekly options are back; the threshold drops from $50B to $25B. BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF once again has Monday and Wednesday expiry dates, giving institutions more choices for hedging
