US President Donald Trump vowed this week to raise tariffs on Canadian cars, trucks, automotive parts and steel to 50% at the start of next year, according to Bloomberg.

Linda Hasenfratz, executive chair of Linamar, said the move would cripple the industry after decades of free trade in autos between the US and Canada.
