$APT

The APT unlock around September 12th isn’t really about whether it will drop; it’s about whether the newly added supply has truly found buy-side demand.

A public calendar suggests this time it may release about 11.31 million APT, roughly 1.9% of the circulating supply. In Aptos Foundation’s official tokenomics documentation, the release rules for the community, foundation, investors, and core contributors are not the same—some release monthly, some follow unlock periods after mainnet launch and then linear schedules. So the calendar figures can only serve as a reminder; they can’t replace an official cross-check.

Right now, APT on Binance spot is around 0.541, down 6.40% over the past 24 hours, with an intraday low of 0.530. Chasing a rebound from this level doesn’t offer attractive odds. My confirmation criteria are simple: before and after the unlock, the price should stop making new lows; volume should increase but not come from one-sided selling pressure; and on-chain transfers shouldn’t show a clear flow toward exchanges. Only if those conditions are met does it have a chance to play out as a “recovery after bad news is priced in.” If it breaks below 0.530 with rising volume, first pull back the rebound expectation.

The unlock itself isn’t a sell button, but when supply increases, the risk of chasing higher prices is amplified. Don’t just look at the amount being released—also look at what the market absorbs after the release. Will you wait for the event to land, or will you front-run the expectations?
